How to Break the Narcissist Codependent Cycle with Dr. Elizabeth Fedrick
On this week’s episode, we are joined by Dr. Liz Fedrick from Evolve Counseling in Arizona who’s mission is to help her clients break through the obstacles that are holding them back in life. During this insightful conversation, we dove deep into the narcissist and codependent relationship and why they are drawn to each other.
The biggest takeaway for me was the realization that we all fall somewhere on the narcissist or codependent scale as Dr. Fedrick referenced from The Human Magnet Syndrome book. We also discussed “Love Bombing” and the devaluing cycle that leads to the blame/shame cycle that is common in these relationships. Lastly, we dive into the red flags that may be present online and in-person to spot a narcissist and codependent partner!
Dr. Fedrick and I both agree that this conversation was really heavy, so we also offered up solutions for those wondering if they are involved with a narcissist or codependent and what you can do about it!
